Yr 7 and 8 Boys and Girls Sportshall (South)
Broadoak, Hans Price, Priory, Sidcot and Worle Schools all brought teams to the South Schools Year 7 and 8 Sports-hall Athletics competition, hosted at Worle School. Worle School provided ten keen and capable sports leaders (who had received event training prior to the event) who supported Dave Turner and colleagues in running the event. A fantastic atmosphere was generated fro the outset as all athletes and staff congregated in the sportshall for the initial hurdles relays. The enthusiasm carried throughout the whole event and it was extremely pleasing to see athletes from all schools encouraging and applauding athletes from other teams. Three of the four competitions on the night were so close that no more than 5-10 points separated the top two teams. The Year 7 boys from Priory had the clearest margin of victory on the evening, but even in this category less than 20 points separated first from second. The winning team in each category were:
Year 7 Boys: Priory 141pts Year 7 Girls: Broadoak 146 pts
Year 8 Boys: Sidcot 145 pts Year 8 Girls: Priory 136 pts
